The Planning Department’s mission is to work in partnership with residents, Town and Precinct Departments, and the private sector to build, sustain and manage a livable and high quality life in Conway. To this end, the Planning Department staffs the Planning Board, and advises the Conservation Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The Planning Department is staffed by the Planning Director and an administrative assistant. The Department works in conjunction with the Building and Zoning Department which is separately staffed by a Code Enforcement Officer and Zoning Officer.
The Planning Department provides technical reviews for Site Plan Review and Subdivision applications to the Planning Board. Additionally, the Department oversees all long term planning initiatives including the preparation of land use and growth management regulations, master planning, capital improvements programming, and other projects as necessary. Economic development assistance is also provided through the Department and in Cooperation with the Mount Washington Valley Economic Council Requests for copies of Conway’s land use regulations including the Zoning Ordinance, Site Plan Review Regulations and Subdivision Regulations can be made by contacting this office.
Kearsarge Lighting Precinct Zoning Ordinance (The Town of Conway does not enforce, interpret, issue permits or hear appeals relative to the Kearsarge Lighting Precincts Zoning Ordinance. The KLP ZO is soley administered by the KLP and any inquiries should be directed to the KLP).
